The collections concept was developed after a conversation I had with my grandma about female empowerment in the 1970s. As a designer, I have a love for past styles. The Night fever collection is a contemporary investigation into the fashion progression of the 1970s and the key events that occurred during this time, such as unisex fashion, women’s rights, and freedoms. The fabric in the collection exploits the boundaries of knitwear. Open structures and layered jacquards communicate a sense of rebellion. Brushed textures honour the tonal palette which was developed through capturing motion. The fluidity of the garments translates the current fashion climate, where freedom to express individuality is at the forefront of the luxury market.
