Zsofia Juhasz
I am a knitwear designer currently completing my MA in Fashion Knitwear Design at NTU. Before my MA, I worked on knit commissions as well as freelancing as a costume maker for stop motion animation, working on productions like the Clangers for the BBC. My work is led by the process of exploring techniques on hand flat and digital knitting machines, with the aim to create beautiful, innovative, comfortable and long lasting pieces. In my MA work I primarily used deadstock yarns, alongside responsibly produced wool by Zegna Baruffa, who sponsored my collection. During my MA I was awarded a bursary by the Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters, and I was one of the winners of the Shima Seiki student competition, where I was awarded a two-week training course on knit programming and design software. My strengths are problem solving and attention to detail, and I enjoy technical challenges. In my future career I want to build on these strengths developing knitted fabrics and knitwear.
