Based on the story James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl, my current work investigates the boundary between costume and wearable art, through creating textile-based theatrical pieces that explore the limitations of the body. I enjoy working with a variety of materials to produce multimedia pieces and aspire to create costumes for family-friendly theatre, however, I also want to explore film and TV and the wider arts as I visualise myself as an artist. My latest design work combines collage with digital drawing to create tactile looking textures through macro, scientific images of insects to convey the nuances of each character. I’ve been drawn to the arts from a young age. Growing up in a creative household in the countryside led me to develop a curious mind towards my surroundings which I feel is shown through my work.
