As a Lebanese Fashion Designer born and raised in Dubai, I have brought together my dual cultural identities to ultimately form myself as a third culture kid. Currently studying at NTU has given me exposure to English culture adding a western perspective to my creative frame. I believe these diverse cultures have moulded me into becoming the designer I am today. My background has enabled me to develop a greater sense of cultural awareness that is considered an asset for my creative path. I have Explored my Lebanese identity within my final project, “Call her Beirut” It magnifies the beauty and strength the country and its people possess, despite Lebanon’s economic and political hardship. The use of the Lebanese Cedar tree laced within my garments acts as a symbolic motif within “Call her Beirut”. I firmly believe that my cultural awareness and humble cumulative experience with high end brands, such as Christian Dior and Givenchy, add to my future operational journey.
