I am a Ceramicist specialising in porcelain lighting and jewellery. My practice is heavily influenced by the colours and patterns I see in Fungi and Mushrooms, as I am deeply interested in the Mycelial Network of fungus and find it inspiring. I stain my own clay using oxides and carry out the Japanese technique of Nerikomi to fold and combine the clays to emulate the rings of colour I see in Polypore Mushrooms like Turkey Tail and Hoof Fungus. I have been using clay to create art for many years and have always been interested in the science behind Mushrooms. It’s been a joy combining these two passions to create this lighting and jewellery for my final degree project. I plan to move forward with my jewellery designs, which will be available through my Instagram account in the near future.
