Lucy Owen
I am a Welsh Costume, Design and Making graduate from NTU focusing on my interests in historical fantasy with heavy embroidery, embellishment and vibrant uses of colour. Across the three years at NTU we have completed projects on film, theatre, panto and worked on embroidery, jewellery and unusual or unconventional materials alongside photoshop lessons and life drawing classes. I have most enjoyed our final year project and being able to choose a concept of my own. My last project was an adaptation of 'The Magic Faraway Tree' by Enid Blyton, which focused on historical fantasy for a family film. This was built from our historical working woman's clothes project for film. It has been amazing after two years of online learning to be able to use and work with performers to see our hard work come to life. In the future, I would like to work in either film or theatre as part of the costume making team but would also like to keep up with embroidery as a hobby if not in the job
