I am currently a third year textile design student at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in Print. With a broad creative background, my work is often multidisciplinary, and I am passionate about colour and texture, as well as sustainability. I have produced a high market level children's wear collection influenced by children’s curiosity and exploratory engagement with the outside world. I have created a cohesive bright print collection that encourages playfulness and freedom of expression. I wanted to focus on looking at the natural world through a young child’s eyes. Visiting nurseries and gathering visual research from children has helped me to understand the way they think and play. This has influenced my final designs and I hope that the ‘inner child’ is evident in my collection ‘Playtime'. I am enthusiastic about the use of digital design in my work, and I am eager to further my knowledge in a commercial setting and hopefully further my career as a designer.
