Hello, my name is Kaitlyn and I’m a textile designer specialising in print. My final year project, ‘Stepping Into A Euphoria’ is a size inclusive luxury women’s sportswear line, which is inspired by the euphoric feeling of outer space. Focusing on comfort and exhilaration, I have designed a collection of bold prints, drawing inspiration from luxury designers such as Emilio Pucci and Tory Burch. In order to make my designs stand out from other sportswear designers, I intertwined an avant-garde edge to my design work, by experimenting with different fabric textures/qualities and shape/scale. As a designer I sway heavily towards digital textiles using tools such as projectors and video imagery to inform my design development. Size inclusivity within the fashion industry as a whole is becoming more prevalent every day. However, this inclusivity is lacking within the luxury department, which is an issue my project challenges. My collection allows comfort and pattern to feel good on anyone.
