Hey there, I’m Jaya! This year I have developed a passion for brand design, whilst incorporating things I enjoy such as illustration, print, and a new found appreciation for motion. I have worked on briefs that have allowed me to breathe life into both old and new brands, giving them a tangible identity. My favourite project this year was ‘Bubs- Biodegradable Bubbles’. Chewing gum is a single-use plastic and creates 100,000 tonnes of plastic waste each year. This insight led me to create a brand identity for a 100% plastic free Bubble gum, that captured the nostalgia of the 1970’s craze whilst focusing on sustainability. Working on solving social issues has been rewarding this year and was what triggered my journey with motion design. Creating motion that was bold, fresh, and that supported women of colour has definitely been a highlight. I really enjoy collaborating with others, and am enthusiastic about continuing to develop my creative process and reinventing future brands.
