James Fletcher
James Fletcher explores nostalgia and sense of the forgotten within their work. Using installation, analogue film and video work to create works that invoke the sense and feel of a curtain time and place, as well as using this to explore their families stories and heritage. By using polaroid film, these un-editable images, they us these as a way of exploring the idea capturing a singular moment that cannot be changed or altered at all. They use their work to look at the relationship we have with ourselves and the people around us and from our past. How they shape who we are, sometimes without us ever meeting them - and now they have an impact that is passed down through their memories. Placing these works in installation spaces that feel as though they are from the past. Inviting you in to remember.
