Hannah Elizabeth Bond
My name is Hannah Elizabeth Bond and this is a showcase of my final-year work that I’ve created as part of my BA Fashion Design degree. My A/W 23 Couture collection ‘The World Without Us’ is based upon the concept on omnicide- the extinction of humans as a result of human action. I have combined my passions for tailoring, hand-embroidery and lingerie to create a couture collection that encapsulates craftsmanship and beauty. This led me to win The Womenswear Award at The Fashanne Awards based in Nottingham, presented to me by Saville Row Tailor, Patrick Grant. After working at a lingerie brand and a couture house last year, I perfected my skills of construction and hand embroidery which I’ve incorporated throughout my final collection. The two looks that I’ve created have a combined total of over 100 hours of heavily beaded embroidery. My aim is to preserve the traditions of couture techniques and celebrate the skill and practice that goes into these uniquely tailored pieces.
