For my final University project, I decided to combine two of my biggest interests within costume – historical garments and embellishment methods. I designed a series of costumes and constructed two of them for a film adaptation of the novel ‘A Little Princess’. I would love to have the opportunity to develop these skills and potentially specialise in embroidery for making garments in the film and theatre industries. I enjoy working on very detailed projects and find it interesting to research historical shapes and techniques to use in my own work, so this is also something I would like to carry on with after University.
