Emma Tipton
‘Future History’ is a woven collection that takes inspiration from the traditional materials of armour and lace, creating a contemporary twist for a women’s couture runway collection. 'Future History' evolves from a focus purely on armour and technology and adapting to use architecture and industrial materials to inspire visual research, viewing patterns and shapes in unexpected places. Emma has embraced the ability to create manipulation in warp and weft structures, with delicate fabrics and contrasting textures whilst also aiming to use modern and alternative fibres to create a forward-thinking design collection that embraces background research into cyclability and recycled fibres. The colour palette is monochromatic black and white with hints of greens and copper, to highlight structures. Technical exploration has been a key feature in Emma’s research and something she hopes to take forward and embrace in future journeys.
