Always Smiling is a multi-disciplinary high-end interiors collection inspired by childhood and my own personal happy memories through a kitsch, playful and wacky style. Colour is an influential part of my process, using fresh, crisp, vividly popping, sugary ones. This collection aims to connect people in their homes, to bring brightness and positivity inside, utilising the comfort and the mental health power tactility and nostalgia holds. Always smiling is about dressing your home with children’s smiling spirit, anything is possible belief and their joy in the smallest and simplest things with which we can lose as we get older. For me, it's examples such as my sunny beach days in my local seaside town, my childhood holidays in Portugal to my love of roast dinners and my dog Lulu. Digital print, digital embroidery, passementerie and fringing especially have been processes I have loved to explore to tell these memories through my samples.
