Delicia Sorhaindo
My name is Delicia Sorhaindo and I have studied Costume Design & Making at Nottingham Trent University. I am passionate about storytelling and the way I do this is through costume. I have found that I enjoy informing and educating an audience with the costumes I make. I one of my interests is batik as I enjoy the process and intricacy of it. I also enjoy creating historical garments as I enjoy the research that goes with creating them. One project I have thoroughly enjoyed is my project ‘The Forgotten Tudors’ this project highlighted the true stories of a Black musician and a Moorish-Muslim ladies maid who lived and worked in the court of Henry VIII. I found that this project was important as it brought forward a part of English history that not many know about. I have had experience working in the wardrobe department at Leeds Playhouse and took part in one of there R&D weeks. In the future, I would like to go on to work in theatre, film or museum curation.
