Cerys Williams is a woven textile specialist with an interest in mixed media approaches to interior design. ‘Nature’s Hollow’ offers a multi-textural approach to a bespoke interior collection: mixing woven cloth, ceramics, and concrete casting. Inspired by the British legend of Mother Shipton, ‘Nature’s Hollow’ focuses on the textural elements of the cave in which she lived and the surrounding environment to create a textural, material led collection. Replicating the water coated surfaces at the Petrifying well and the solidifying of objects in the calcified water, the concept takes the form of 3 mini collections: Petrified Glaze, Textural Heritage, and Gentle Gleam. The main focus within the project are the finishing techniques for a range of weighted fabrics, including textural 3-D effects, solid surfaces, and more delicate sheer fabrics.
