Knitting and knitwear has been my passion from a young age. My journey began at the age of 14 when I learned how to crochet. Since then I have developed my skills to include crocheting, hand knitting, weaving, sewing, embroidery and knitting on machines. My university career has led me in many interesting directions, however my final year work is by far the most exciting. I delved into the world of knitted jewellery and meticulous hand embellishment, which has helped me greatly to identify my aspirations for the future. I would like to venture further into knitted accessories and jewellery and take them to the next level by creating very detailed and intricate pieces for high end fashion. I have been awarded two sponsorships this year and hope to be selected for Graduate Fashion Week. All of my pieces displayed in the showcase are made either on a domestic knitting machine or embellished by hand. In doing so, I aim to promote slow fashion and the hand making processes.
