Throughout my time at NTU I have developed my creative skills immensely, from design to research, and experimentation to advanced pattern cutting. The opportunity to create my own production within my final year project enabled me to explore the world of artist Beatrix Potter. Exploring my passions of researching and investigating, creating 2 of the 10 costume designs for this biopic. I was able to demonstrate my knowledge of historical costuming integrated with more creative anthropomorphic costuming, creating tailored, corseted, imaginative, and innovative costumes. The experimentation of creative textiles through free-machine embroidery, latex, and decorative techniques aided the creation of the natural mushroom-covered costume of Potter’s friend Charles McIntosh for the production. Overall, I am extremely proud of my achievements and wish to continue my enthusiasm for costume, aspiring to develop my making skills, work on TV, film, theatre, and even within museums one day.
