In a society where loving and appreciating our bodies is seen as a rebellious act, ‘An ode to women’ combats this by celebrating the female body with all its curves and imperfections. The key aim of this project is to empower and influence a change in the way women view themselves. This project explores colour and expression in an audacious way, to inspire feelings of optimism, self-appreciation and meaning. The collection consists of a wide mixture of both hand and machine embroidery techniques, laser cutting, and print. I am a highly experimental designer who gravitates towards a multimedia and conceptual approach to design. My passion is in the fashion industry, particularly alternative fashion. However, I am open to the different areas of textile design and beyond.
