The concept for my FMP points to femininity and the history behind the meaning of beauty. Whilst researching this topic I have learned that physical attractiveness, especially for women can function as a stigma. As in 2021 women still get valued through their appearance rather than personality and achievements. Whilst researching the history of beauty, I wanted to compare the parallels depicted in art from the renaissance and modern day. Throughout my research and design work I captured the subtle details of renaissance garments and combined this with modern artwork that portray a feminine figure. Furthermore, I took inspiration from warped perceptions of beauty and a deconstructed this to create an abstract, laser cut style print.
