Jessica Emsley is an interdisciplinary artist exploring meaningful exchanges with nature through working with language, walking and experimental action. She pursues intimate exchanges with those wilder places which facilitate such exchange and questions the inherited othering of nature, inviting new possibilities for more-than-human connections. By inviting a receptivity to the landscape, Jessica hopes to unlock new means of communication and to erode the separation between human and nature. Her artwork is informed by research into the nonhuman, semiotics, ecology and phenomenology.
